Here are some more ideas of where you can take your pushchair in the Midlands. These are lovely places to go, but not worth a route description. |
Ellesmere - wander beside the Mere and in Cremorne Gardens, playground, picnic tables and ducks galore!!
Holy Austin Rock Houses, Kinver - the lower terrace of these houses cut into rock is accessible. Worth a look even if you don't go in.
Telford Town Park - play areas and good paths in this large park. Soft play near by.
Stiperstones - if you want more than the accessible trail, you can get an ATP to the top of the ridge. Steep but great views.
Acton Burnell Castle, S of Shrewsbury - follow the castle signs from the village. Free entry, woodland and grassy areas to run round.
The Quarry, Shrewsbury - good paths through landscaped gardens with aboretum, ponds and riverside walks. Play area.
Stanmore Heritage Site, Bridgnorth - good paths once through woodland, though you have to negotiate a kissing gate.
Dale End Park, Ironbridge - lovely park by the river with good paths, cafe, play area and picnic areas.
Severn Valley Country Park - the main path through the park is well surfaced and there is an accessible trail around the pond.
Queenswood Arboretum, nr Hereford - well surfaced paths around the country park and through bluebell woods. |

A perfect pushchair walk along broad woodland and field paths and quiet country roads. The route takes you through the tranquil Sherborne Estate with fine views of Sherborne House and Church and with a number of sculptures hidden within the woodland. Suitable for double off-roaders. |

PWM1: Droitwich Canal and Monarch's Way, Fernhill Heath |

This lovely rural ramble takes you along quiet country lanes, canal towpaths and bridleways. There is plenty of wildlife to see along the canal and also numerous farms and an old corn mill on route. Boat trips can be taken along the canal from Droitwich. |

PWM3 Devil's Spittleful Nature Reserve, Kidderminster

This fantastic walk takes you through two nature reserves, alongside a safari park and has great views of a steam railway! The tracks are good throughout and there is plenty of wildlife to spot on route too. |

PWM4 Cannop Ponds, Forest of Dean |
1 hour 45 minutes: 3.25 miles (5.2 km) |

The Royal Forest of Dean is one of England 's few remaining ancient forests and was designated a national park in 1938. This walk takes you past two lakes and through oak and pine woodland. Look out for Mandarin ducks, Fallow deer and other wildlife. |

Fretherne to Splatt Bridge , Frampton on Severn

This is a lovely easy walk with a variety of scenery and architecture to see on route. There are ducks and boats to amuse the kids on the canal and a huge variety of wildlife on the marsh land surrounding the River Severn. |

PWM6 The Severn Way , Upton upon Severn

A riverside ramble through tranquil meadows on the banks of the Severn . The walk begins in Upton upon Severn a small town famous for it Jazz and Blues Music Festivals. Flooding is reknowned in this area so don't attempt this walk in periods of heavy rain!

Waseley Hills, Birmingham

Waseley Hills are located just outside Birmingham and are an area of grassy hills, ancient woodland, hedgerows and ponds. The panoramic views are spectacular and you can bag a summit with relative ease! Mainly grassy paths which can get pretty muddy, so ATPs only. Moderate inclines and 2 obstacles. |

Walk along the Bourn Brook in preserved farmland in Birmingham 's green belt. Woodgate valley is a haven of tranquillity with a café, playground and urban farm! Good, flat paths but there are a couple of rough patches that could be awkward for strollers. |

Explore the tranquil forest of Kingsford , with its mix of woodland and splendid views over the southern end of Kinver Edge. Good paths throughout, though sandy and uneven in places with some steep inclines, so ATPs only. |

A walk through lovely woodland on Kinver Edge – a high escarpment with great views over Worcestershire and Staffordshire. Rough paths, so ATPs only and there are moderate inclines and 2 gates to lift over. Unprotected drops, so little ones need to be closely guarded.

PWM13 Kinver to Kingsford |
1.5hrs: 2 miles (3km) |

Walk to Kingsford Forest via Kinver Edge taking in the wide views before exploring the woodland. ATPs only as paths are sandy and rocky, and there are some steep inclines. Unprotected cliff edges and two gates to lift over, avoidable via a road short cut. This route overlaps with PWM11 and PWM12.
