News for May

Well, it's May and the long awaited rain has arrived down south, with long awaited sun finally arriving up north! Maybe this will herald the start of a lovely summer (well, we live in hope!) with lots of lovely walks to keep our little ones occupied.

Competition results

Congratulations to all who entered our Easter photo competition. We had some fabulous pictures, but the winner was Melanie Crown with her lovely daffodil photo (see right). A Regatta all-in-one rainsuit is on its way to her, courtesy of Rain-shine, just in time to protect her little one from the wet weather!

Contributors needed

New contributers are always welcome at pushchairwalks, so if you know some interesting walks in your area, or find some on holiday, then please get in touch by clicking here. We will let you know what you need to send us, and you don't need to worry about formatting the walks as that is done for you.

Contributors can be based anywhere in the UK and must be willing to look for and try out new routes with child and pushchair in tow! Walks need to be safe and have a maximum of 3 obstacles requiring lifting the pushchair.

Attraction of the Month

Attractions and events from around the UK, all year round activities and seasonal events... If you want to recommend a personal favourite, email us here.

Storybook Glen, Aberdeen

Visit all your favourite nursery rhyme and fairy tale characters in one small Scottish valley! Storybook Glen, just outside Aberdeen, makes for a great day out, with babbling brooks, woodland paths and all your kids' favourite characters in life- to giant-sized models! Look out for the Three Little Pigs, Snow White, Tom Tom the Piper's Son and many many more. There are also animals including pot-bellied pigs, climbing frames, slides and of course a cafe and picnic areas.

New Walks and Route News

Watch out for riverside walks, which may be flooded after the recent rain. We have also recently updated the site, removing walks where paths have deteriorated such that they are no longer pushchair-friendly.

Though we check as many routes as possible we can't visit them all, so please keep route changes coming in to us, they are invaluable in keeping the site up to date. If new obstacles have been encountered, please let us know where on the route they are so we can pass on the information.

Contributions

Our group of contributors is ever increasing, but we always welcome more!

If you know a walk you want to share, let us know!

What do you get? Your name attached to the walk (if you want), and if you send us the description you'll also get a voucher for free downloads. Regular contributors will receive financial recompense based on their walk sales. Just email us here.
